More arrests over record meth bust

Two more men have been arrested in relation to the record methamphetamine bust in Northland this week.

The 25-year-old and 26-year-old were arrested in Auckland yesterday.

Police said the pair would appear in the Manukau District Court today.

Both are charged with importing a class A drug, namely methamphetamine, and participating in an organised criminal group.

The 25-year-old also faces a charge of money laundering.

"The investigation into the record seizure is ongoing and police are not ruling out the possibility of further arrests," police said.

Police found 448kg of methamphetamine, also known as "P" in the back of a campervan on Sunday night.

The discovery came after members of the public reported suspicious vehicles in the area, and people trying to launch boats off the Far North's west coast.
