Two New Zealanders have been arrested in India, after
allegedly being caught with cannabis. They were arrested in
Bhuntar, an area well-known for marijuana cultivation.
Authorities allege the New Zealanders were carrying 96 grams
of cannabis, NewstalkZB reported.
India has strict drug laws, with penalties of up to 10 years
jail for people caught with even a few grams of marijuana.
The New Zealand Embassy in New Delhi is understood to be have
been told of the arrests.
