Four out of 10 New Zealanders think a union with Australia is
worth considering, according to survey results to be released
tomorrow.
A union was seen as helping to making trans-Tasman travel
easier and improving New Zealand's defence capability.
The UMR poll questioned 1000 New Zealanders and Australians,
The New Zealand Herald reported today.
Of the New Zealanders, 41 percent said the merger idea was
"worth debating", while 58 percent disagreed.
Other results from the survey, including the responses of the
Australians questioned, will be released on TNVZ's Q+A
programme tomorrow.
