A Canadian tourist who crashed his mini-van into a tour bus
loaded with other tourists in Wellington yesterday has been
fined $800.
Marc Boileau, 54, from Vancouver, pleaded guilty in
Wellington District Court today to careless driving causing
injury, The Dominion Post reported. He paid the fine
on the spot.
Boilou, on holiday with his family, crossed the centre line
while driving his mini-van near Oriental Parade shortly
before midday, colliding with the tour bus carrying 12
overseas visitors.
Four bus passengers were moderately injured but Boilou and
his family were unhurt.
