Liquidation application

A computer IT company has lodged an application for the liquidation of former Queenstown Lakes District councillor Aaron Heath's Helwick St business, Wanaka Pharmacy Ltd.

Think Concepts Limited, a company with branches around New Zealand which specialises in providing IT systems for the pharmacy industry, lodged its liquidation application with the High Court at Dunedin last week.

Mr Heath is a pharmacist who has run the Wanaka Pharmacy since about 1995. He was elected as a single-term councillor to the QLDC in 2004 and also owns the Wanaka Sun community newspaper.

A Lower Hutt-based solicitor for Think Concepts was instructed to make no comment.

Mr Heath said the liquidation application "in no way affected" his other business interests or the viability of the Wanaka Sun.

A complaint has been lodged with the New Zealand Law Society against Think Concepts Ltd, he said.

The matter is scheduled to be heard in Dunedin on May 9.
