Experienced photographer Gordon Laing, of Queenstown, takes
aim yesterday at the start of the free inaugural "Photo Walk"
he will host on Sunday for anyone interested in photography
at any level and with any camera.
The Queenstown Film Society committee member tested cameras
professionally as a journalist for 15 years and covered the
digital revolution first-hand. Top landscape photographers
Jason Law, of Queenstown, and Todd Sisson, of Alexandra, will
join Queenstown Photo Walk.
Mr Laing said participants would meet fellow photography
enthusiasts, compare notes on technique, equipment and
experiences and learn how to take better photos using
whatever camera they happened to own, from a digital
single-lens reflex to a smartphone.
"It's very informal, so you can go at your own pace and opt
in our out whenever you like."
Queenstown Photo Walk will be held on Sunday, December 18,
beginning at the One Mile car-park near the Fernhill
roundabout at 5.30pm. The group will stroll and take
photographs along the lakefront and through the Queenstown
Gardens then back into the town centre.
