A Queenstown burger bar wants to project its logo as an
illuminated sign on the outside blank wall of associated
premises next door, on Shotover St.
The resource consent application from Fergburger bar was
received by Lakes Environmental on Thursday.
Consent was sought for the white light sign to be projected
on to a painted concrete block boundary wall of the Fergbaker
premises, over the roof line of the restaurant, "during the
normal hours of darkness" only, the application said.
"The proposed new illuminated sign is in keeping with the
surrounding illuminated Hollywood signage below and suits
other signage on the site and in general fits very well
within the surrounding buildings, enhancing the overall
external appearance," the application said.
"We also believe the effects of the illumination will not
affect traffic safety by causing confusion or distraction to,
or obstruct views of, motorists or pedestrians."
Global coverage for race
New Zealand's newest adventure race, the Orion Health GodZone
Adventure, being held over Easter, has been chosen as one of
six leading expedition races worldwide to be filmed for
global broadcast.
Elite adventure racing athletes and their teams, all vying to

definition by Australian production company Nothin' But
Shorts.
The GodZone Adventure in Queenstown will be the third
challenge in the series, enabling national and international
teams to experience New Zealand's back country.
The Outdoor Channel will screen the series in Asia from
February 1, followed by Fox Sports in Australia and Qantas
In-flight, BSkyB in the United Kingdom, Europe and the
Americas.
GODZone co-director Adam Fairmaid said the four half-hour
episodes would also be broadcast on New Zealand's SKY Sport

Zealand, in some ways, represents the pinnacle of adventure
travel.
"Viewers will watch some of the world's toughest athletes
explore some wonderful locations ... "
