Queenstown man faces fraud charges

A 50-year-old Queenstown man has been arrested today on fraud charges alleged to be in the vicinity of $80,000.

The arrest follows a lengthy investigation by Queenstown Police.

The man is facing two charges of using a document to obtain a pecuniary advantage and four charges of causing loss by deception.

The charges relate to the organisation of the Queenstown Annual Pub Charity Rugby Sevens, and the offences are alleged to have occurred between January 2009 and December 2010.

The man has been bailed to appear on March 26 in the Queenstown District Court.
