Nine pieces of greenstone were found at a Glenorchy address
on Sunday by police operating under a search warrant.
Sergeant Keith Newell, of Queenstown, said police, acting on
information from the public, seized various sizes and
qualities of the stone.
Greenstone is found in the South Island and belongs to Ngai
Tahu, who are permanent guardians of the stone.
Police would not say what the charges were, only that
inquiries would be continuing.
