Young boys caught shoplifting

Last Sunday, at 3pm, two 14-year-olds from Wanaka were caught shoplifting from The Warehouse in Remarkables Park.

Sergeant Derek Ealson said all the items were recovered and the teenagers were referred to Youth Aid.

• A 22-year-old Invercargill man's attempts to steal a chocolate bar at 3am last Sunday resulted in a pre-charge warning.

• At 2.35am on Sunday, a 20-year-old Chilean man was charged with drink-driving, after he was stopped on the Mossburn-Five Rivers road, near Lumsden.

Sgt Ealson said the man had a breath-alcohol level of 521mcg and would appear in the Queenstown District Court.

• A 20-year-old Queenstown man was found to be driving while suspended when he was stopped by police at 1.04am last Sunday.

Sgt Ealson said he was stopped on Park St and would appear in the Queenstown District Court on May 29.

• A 22-year-old Queenstown man was arrested on Monday night after he failed to attend his court appearance that morning.

Sgt Ealson said the man was due to appear in court yesterday.

• At 2.50am yesterday, an 18-year-old male punched and smashed a bar window after getting into an argument.

He was then seen by police urinating, and was charged with wilful damage.

Sgt Ealson said the teenager would appear in court on Friday.
