Search warrants turn up laptop and bike

Two search warrants were executed in Queenstown and Christchurch at 8.30pm on Sunday, resulting in the discovery of a laptop and a mountain bike.

• At 2.23am on Sunday a 27-year-old Kurou male was found with a small amount of cannabis.

• At 1.05am on Sunday Queenstown police assisted in seizing a stereo from an Arthur's Point address following excessive noise complaints.

• A 23-year-old American man was arrested on a fraud charge on Saturday night after a letter he gave to his flatmate was allegedly found to be made up.

The man was charged with misusing a document.

• A 27-year-old man was arrested when he allegedly pushed his ex-partner on Friday night.

The man was helping the woman move firewood when an argument ensued.

• A 50-year-old Queenstown man was arrested at 2am on Friday for allegedly slapping his daughter in the face and pushing his son.

• A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing chocolate bars from Night 'n Day and received a pre-charge warning.

The man allegedly ordered hot food and when staff weren't looking stole the bars from under the counter.

•A 26-year-old man was arrested on a charge of disorderly behaviour outside World Bar.

The man was released with a pre-charge warning but was found to have an outstanding fines warrant.

• On Sunday morning between 3am and 7am a 21-year-old and 20-year-old alllegedly stole two bicycles from different areas of Frankton.

The intoxicated men from Winton were with friends and missed their ride.

They found one bike at Frankton Marina and the other in Douglas St and senior intelligence analyst Sean Drader of Queenstown police said the men were intending to cycle home to Winton.

They made it as far as the Kawarau bridge then turned back to Queenstown, where on route, they were found by police.
