Wanaka police attended a single-car crash on Cardrona Valley
Rd early yesterday.
Constable Peter Reed said police were notified about 7am of a
crash 2km north of the Cardrona skifield access road. A
Subaru sedan had left the road, hit a bank, and ended up on
its roof about 6am. Police understood the driver, believed to
be a 40-year-old Cardrona man, had not been injured. The
accident was being investigated, he said.
• On Friday night, police arrested a 21-year-old Alexandra
man for offensive behaviour after he was allegedly seen
urinating outside the Lake Hawea Hotel.
• On Saturday morning, police received a report from
Brownston St residents of a burglary.
They said their garden shed had been ransacked. Paint and
other items were thrown about, and plants nearby were ripped
out.
• In the early hours of Saturday, an 18-year-old UK woman
living in Wanaka was issued a pre-charge warning by police
after being identified on CCTV footage taking a jacket from
the Water Bar in Ardmore St.
