A 31-year-old Queenstown man was arrested and charged with
disorderly behaviour, resisting arrest and assault of a
police officer early on Monday morning. The man had been
asked to leave a bar on Steamer Wharf at 2.05am when "things
turned nasty", Senior Constable Chris Blackford said. He was
due to appear in the Queenstown District Court yesterday.
• Two men were arrested and given pre-charge warnings on
Monday morning after they allegedly began a fight outside
Fergburger at 4.05am. One of the men took exception when the
other male started talking to the female he was with, Snr
Const Blackford said.
• A Lake Hayes Estate couple reported to police their home
had been covered by graffiti while they were away during
Labour Weekend. When they returned from their holiday, they
found obscenities written on their house. Police are
investigating the incident.
• A man and a woman from Cromwell were pulled over in
Frankton Rd on Monday for an alleged traffic offence and it
was discovered there were warrants out for their arrest for
outstanding fines. They were due to appear in the Queenstown
District Court yesterday.
• A 43-year-old Christchurch woman was arrested and charged
with disorderly behaviour after she allegedly refused to
leave the World Bar on Wednesday morning. Police were called
and the woman had to be physically moved, Snr Const Blackford
said.
