Next year's Motatapu bike event is only 150 entries away from
selling out.
Entries for the Iconic Adventures race opened in July and
organisers say there has been a better pick-up from
contestants than in previous years.
Motatapu's Tracey Neil said entries were growing steadily for
all five events, which comprise the 47km mountain bike race,
the triathlon, in which 100 people have entered so far, the
off-road marathon run (300 so far), the 15km Miners Trail
event (200) and the Motatapu multisport race (20), which is
new for 2013.
Last year, the races attracted a record number of runners at
1264.
Entries for all races close on February 13. The race is on
March 9.
