We know Queenstown has the extreme factor, but does it have
the X Factor?
The international music show which has launched the careers
of artists such as Leona Lewis, Reece Mastin and One
Direction will hit New Zealand next year - and the search
will start in Queenstown.
A list of pre-audition dates and locations has been released.
The pre-auditions are scheduled to start in Queenstown on
January 5.
After Queenstown, the pre-auditions will move to Invercargill
the next day, Dunedin on January 7 , Oamaru January 8 and
Timaru on January 9.
They will continue to move up the country to finish in
Kaitaia on Waitangi Day.
The X Factor New Zealand co-executive producer Andrew
Szustreman said the aim was to find the "next big recording
star".
"If that's you and you're a singer, aged 14 and over as of
January 2013, you should be performing at one of our
pre-auditions early next year," Mr Szustreman said.
"It's the opportunity of a lifetime and I encourage you to
start preparing now."
Contestants who are successful at the pre-auditions will then
perform in front of the four judges, one of whom is recording
artist Stan Walker, and a live audience.
Those interested can visit the TV3 website to download and
print an application form, which they must bring to the
audition.
