More than $7000 was raised on Sunday from Queenstown
Plunket's Wakatipu Garden Tour.
The event offered people the chance to visit some of the
area's most established and loved gardens, finishing with a
Devonshire afternoon tea at the Chantecler Homestead.
Queenstown Plunket president Jane Hamilton said everything
from ticket sales to the weather had gone smoothly.
The event was first held last year and this year more than
double the number of tickets were sold.
She was grateful to the private garden owners who had worked
through the recent rain and unseasonably cold weather to
prepare their gardens for viewing.
The money raised will go towards Queenstown Plunket's outdoor
area upgrade.
