More than 300 competitors from around the South took part in
the Lake Hayes Tri in perfect summer weather conditions
yesterday, watched by as many spectators.
Described as New Zealand's oldest surviving triathlon, it was
first held in 1983, and tests individuals and teams in the
elite 2XU Olympic Distance Triathlon, the 2XU Sprint Distance
Triathlon, New World Duathlon, Lakes Leisure ''Du It''
Challenge and the Southern Sports Podiatry 5km and 10km Trail
Runs, held on or near the Lake Hayes Showground.
