It is the Return of the Jedi selector - British DJ Yoda is booked for his second session in Queenstown in February, after his sensational gig last year.

The London DJ, also known as Duncan Beiny, will deliver his trademark broad range of hip-hop beats and breaks, including cuts from his latest album Chop Suey, which was six years in the making.

DJ Yoda will present his celebrated audio-visual show in the World Bar first, as a South Island exclusive, then Wellington and Auckland.

The show involves three high-definition projectors beside the DJ and a 6m-high screen on the back deck of the bar.

Latest highlights for Yoda include DJing to packed clubs from China to Brazil to Australia, playing on the same bill as Steve Martin, Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock at the HBO Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, as well as showcasing a one-off audio-visual mix at the DMC 25th anniversary championships.

Support on the night comes courtesy of the appropriately named head resident DJ Stubacca, known as Stu Raeburn, from 10pm, with the special guest about 11.30pm.

World Bar marketing manager Tamara Ashby said DJ Yoda ''loves Queenstown and New Zealand cuisine and wine. He's amazing live and we're super excited to have him back.''

Tickets cost $20 and are available from the Shotover St venue and Quest.
