Young people filled their school-free days this week by
paintballing, flipping pancakes and rafting as part of the
Youth Booth School Holiday Programme.
Yesterday there were blueberry and chocolate pancakes to be
made and eaten.
Sam Ciro (12) is pictured flipping pancakes, watched by
Wakatipu Youth Trust team leader Poppie Gerber (back), Ryusei
Wakushima (13) and Baxter Thomas (12, front).
As the holidays came to a close, Miss Gerber encouraged
people to consider volunteering at the Stanley St centre.
Volunteers are needed for three hours a week, from 3pm to
6pm, to help with the running of the centre and essentially
''pass on their experience to the local Wakatipu youth''.
Training is provided and a minimum of three months is asked
of volunteers.
For more information contact the Youth Booth on (03) 409-0376
or (03) 442-8115.
