The next generation of budding cricketers in Queenstown is
being encouraged to apply for a share of a $100,000 national
grant as part of the ANZ Cricket Grant Scheme.
Clubs, schools, individuals and teams, young and old, can
apply for anything from bats, stumps and helmets to
scoreboards and pitch resurfacing grants by explaining why
they were deserving and how they would benefit. All ages and
levels of cricket skill are catered for, with backyard
cricket sets, uniforms, gear and bespoke grants also
available.
The scheme was aimed at helping cricket grow at a community
level.
ANZ head of sponsorship Sue McGregor said the scheme had been
established to support ''our nation's love of cricket'' and
help people get more from the game they loved - be that
playing at the beach or at a competitive level.
''If your school or club needs a new set of gear or you're a
fan that really wants to see an ANZ International Series
match, we encourage you to apply so ANZ can help as many
people as possible enjoy cricket this summer.''
Applications are open until March 12 and can be completed
online.
