Police spent several hours searching for an Arrowtown
woman after her crashed car was found blocking an Arrowtown
street.
Blood could be seen on the car's windscreen.
The 49-year-old woman was found by police about 12 hours
later. Police were notified of the crash at 8.30am yesterday.
Arrowtown community constable Senior Constable Beth Fookes
said it occurred at 1.30am yesterday in Manse Rd.
Police said the car was registered to a woman living in Manse
Rd. Yesterday morning, police reported they had yet to find
her as she had not turned up at her home.
Acting Sergeant Tracy Haggart could not confirm where the
woman was found but said she was ''safe and well''.
She was unsure whether the woman had required medical
attention.
Snr Const Fookes said the car had veered off the road and hit
''a very solid retaining wall'' before ending up on its roof
and blocking three-quarters of the road.
Inquiries are continuing.
