A woman made a lasting impression even before she had began
her first day of work yesterday morning - by driving her car
into a schist entranceway.
The woman, in her mid-20s, was turning from State Highway 6
into Gibbston Valley Wines where she was due to start
working.
St John communications adviser Ian Henderson said St John was
alerted at 9.02am.
An ambulance was sent to the winery and the woman was taken
to Lakes District Hospital with minor injuries, including a
hand injury.
Constable Feleki Uhrle said inquiries were continuing.
A Gibbston Valley Winery spokesman was unavailable to
comment.
