Team Seagate has successfully defended their title with a scorching finish at the Godzone adventure race in Queenstown this morning.

The current Adventure Racing World Champion team led by Nathan Fa'avae, with Sophie Hart, Chris Forne and Trevor Voyce snared the 2013 title in just three days.

Race Director Adam Fairmaid says the team, who never lost the lead position over the entire 513km course, came into the event as the ones to beat and they were ready to take on anyone who challenged them.

"This has been an extra ordinary result from Team Seagate who have given a faultless performance from day one. They were chased all the way by Team Harraways Oats who at times looked likely to threaten them but really Seagate had what it takes to win."
