Office space at Remarkables Park could be become a women's
fitness centre.
Resource consent has been sought to change the activity use
on level one of Rees House to allow the level to become
Configure Express - a women's only gym franchise.
Opening hours are proposed to be from 6am until 8pm but the
closing time could increase to 10pm if there is demand.
Rees House is more than 50m from residential homes and it was
stated in the resource consent application the premises was
air conditioned ''so any noise escaping through an open
window will be minor and not disruptive to the other
commercial activities''.
''The floor has recently also been reinforced to ensure no
nuisance by vibration,'' the application stated.
Level one of Rees House has previously been used as
commercial offices but ''has been vacant for several months
and attempts to attract a replacement office user have not
been successful due to low user demand''.
