A ''great autumn apple drive'' will make use of fruit that
might otherwise go to waste.
Ella Lawton from the Otago Polytechnic's centre for
sustainable practice came up with the idea.
People are invited to bring apples, pears and green tomatoes
to Rippon Hall, Wanaka, on April 6 for turning into chutney,
sauce and cider.
There will be a cider press and those who brought fruit and
containers could take home apple juice to ferment into cider.
