In a battle involving coffee machines rather than skis,
Mt Hutt has been knocked off the top by Coronet Peak in an
annual round of rivalry.
Coronet Peak's barista team leader, Rachael Marshall
(pictured), beat reigning champion Mt Hutt in the NZSki and
Hermitage barista competition.
The contest involves baristas having 15 minutes to set up, 10
minutes to make two espressos, two flat whites, two long
blacks and two lattes, then having 10 minutes to clean up.
NZSki general manager of food and beverage Jen Graham said
staff at Coronet Peak had served over 100,000 cups of coffee
so far this season.
