An Australian teenager who went on a four-day shoplifting
spree through Queenstown was sentenced in the Queenstown
District Court yesterday on six theft charges.
Rueben William Wikitera, 18, was on a school trip from
Dickson College in Canberra when he stole almost $1670 of
goods between August 18 and 22.
He was fined $1769, with court costs of $780, by Judge Kevin
Queenstown police described finding an "Aladdin's Cave" of
stolen property in the teenager's room.
