Elmslie House, in Wanaka, has been officially acknowledged as
one of the best homes for older people, receiving a Ministry
of Health four-year certification for the second time.
The Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO) home is one of six
Southern District Health Board aged care facilities to hold
the top certification. Four of them are PSO homes.
Auditors said Elmslie House Home and Hospital residents and
their families spoke ''very positively'' about the care and
support provided to them.
PSO chief executive Gillian Bremner said such comments
endorsed the organisation's belief that ageing could be a

Elmslie House is home to 31 people and a further 25 residents
in the adjacent Wanaka Retirement Village are able to access
services when required.
