A photography exhibition - the culmination of seven weeks
of work for a group of pupils from Wakatipu High School - will
open at the Youth Booth tonight, running for two weeks.
Members of the level 1 photography group, under the tutelage
of professional photographers Dan Childs and Emily Adamson,
and guest tutors Jim Pollard and Marina Matthews, used the
''koru'' theme in a competition within the exhibition.
The image judged best overall will be printed on canvas and
its photographer will support either Mr Childs or Ms Adamson
as an assistant on a photography shoot.
Wakatipu Youth Trust youth worker Fi Sawers said it had been
a great course with ''an incredibly talented group''.
''This is the second year that we have run the course and the
energy, commitment and talent among the youth has been
fantastic to see.''
Ms Sawers said the course would not have been possible
without the support of Queenstown Camera and the
photographers who assisted the pupils.
The exhibition will open at 6pm tonight and the photos will
remain at the Youth Booth for a fortnight.
