Police back-up for ambulance crew

Police were called to help an ambulance crew deal with a 43-year-old man in Arrowtown who had become violent, apparently after taking synthetic drugs.

Senior Constable Chris Blackford said police understood the man had passed out and was having seizures. When police officers arrived about 5pm on Tuesday the man was conscious.

The man was treated and assessed at the house and St John was unable to give further details as it happened at a private property.

Snr Const Blackford said the attending constable described the situation as an example ''of why not to try that stuff''.
