A woman allegedly attempted to cash a forged $500 American Express traveller's cheque at a Camp St bank at 3pm on Tuesday.
Senior Constable Chris Blackford said the woman was described as ''older''. No cash was handed over, as bank staff realised the cheque was forged.
Snr Const Blackford said the woman left the bank but CCTV footage of her was available and inquiries would continue.
