Tattoo Show draws fans

More than $500 was raised for The Youth Booth in Queenstown on Saturday, during the resort's inaugural Tattoo Show, held at Xtreme Bar.

Owner Tish Quirk said she ''couldn't be happier'' about the level of support shown for the event, which gave people an opportunity to show off their body art and admire that of others.

Tattoos were also on offer - Mrs Quirk was the first booking, receiving her first tattoo.

After three hours of work by Deano Jones, of Queenstown Tattoos, the name of Mrs Quirk's son - Ajay - was etched on the inside of her left forearm.

About 200 people attended the show, including about 40 entrants in various categories.

The show would become an annual event, Mrs Quirk said.
