Smashing crockery, throwing gumboots and straining against a horizontal bungy were among the family fun activities at the Upper Clutha Presbyterian Parish's annual holiday gala at the Wanaka Showgrounds on Saturday.
Fierce winds which battered the event's many tent stalls did not deter thousands of people from attending the gala.
Among them, was parish minister the Rev Diane Gilliam-Weeks, incognito in full clown costume, as she entertained the crowds.
Also featured were live music, food stands, animals, dance performances, second-hand bric-a-brac and many other children's games.
The event is part of the Queenstown Lakes District Council's ''Summerdaze'' festival programme.
