Land Information New Zealand has received no reports of freedom camping issues beside State Highway 6, along the western shore of Lake Hawea.
Some Lake Hawea residents have been concerned freedom campers on LINZ land are causing contamination of lake water.
Linz has installed toilets at two popular freedom camping places, and acting manager crown property management for LINZ John Hook said yesterday no issues had been brought to his attention.
Linz land is not subject to the new Freedom Camping Act, used by the Queenstown Lakes District Council to restrict freedom camping in other areas.
So far this summer, wardens have issued more than 20 infringement notices to tourists camping illegally in the Lake Hawea township or on the town's beaches.
