New Zealand reality television star Phil Keoghan can't wait to come to Queenstown for the NZ Open golf pro-am.

The Emmy Award-winning host of The Amazing Race for 23 seasons is the latest celebrity confirmed for the pro-am at The Hills and Millbrook courses from February 27 until March 2.

''During my career I've always tried to find an excuse for shooting in Queenstown so I simply can't wait to come back again.

''I just never thought it'd be for golf.''

Keoghan crowned the resort the adventure capital of the world in a list he recently compiled of 23 destinations to see before you die.

''There are more adventure opportunities packed into this little town than any other place on Earth,'' he said.

As for his most famous golfing exploit, it was putting a golf ball across Scotland for four days - as an interesting way to meet people.

Queenstown restaurateur and MasterChef NZ television show judge Josh Emett will also join the star-studded pro-am field.

Other sporting celebrities on the list to play include Australian cricketing greats and former captains Ricky Ponting and Allan Border.
