The Highlanders will play the Brumbies at the Queenstown Rec Ground on Friday night.
Theteam will attend a fundraising lunch for the Wakatipu Rugby Club at the Queenstown Memorial Centre.
Club president Damian O'Connell said the event had initially been planned for late last year, when ''one or two'' of the Highlanders were available. However, that had been postponed to capitalise on the team's visit to the resort.
Hosted by broadcaster and Queenstown Lakes District Councillor Craig Ferguson and former All Black Justin Marshall, Thorn and some team-mates, possibly including Aaron Smith, will be interviewed while ticket-holders enjoy a catered lunch and cash bar, followed by a fundraising auction.
Guests would also be able to watch the team during the captain's run on the Queenstown Rec Ground after lunch, O'Connell said.
There are 20 tables of 10 available and individual tickets on offer.
The event starts at noon on Thursday. Tickets are available by calling Locations Realty on (03) 442-7990 or emailing qt@locations.co.nz. Tickets cost $75 each, or $750 for a table of 10.
Gates open on Friday at 5pm for a 6pm kick-off, tickets cost $20 for adults, children free.
The Highlanders' first official fixture will be against the Blues on February 22, at Forsyth Barr Stadium, in Dunedin.
