Wanaka country rock singer Jody Direen's star continues to rise in New Zealand and Australia.

Following the success of her single Loud, Direen (24) has been contracted to perform alongside three top American country music artists at Australia's three-day country music festival, CMC Rocks the Hunter, in March.

She will share the stage with Toby Keith - who boasts 30 million album sales and more than 50 Top 40 Billboard hits - American Idol finalist Kellie Pickler and Redneck Woman singer Gretchen Wilson.

Direen's inclusion in the line-up alongside her idols comes after Loud shot to No 1 within one hour of release on the New Zealand iTunes country music charts and sat there for three weeks.

It peaked at No 17 on the iTunes charts over all genres and at No 14 in the NZ Top 40.

Her Loud video made its debut on CMC (Country Music Channel) Australia two weeks ago at No 15 in the CMC Top 30 countdown. Last week it climbed to No 10.

Before singing at the CMC festival, Direen will open for Lynyrd Skynyrd, Starship and 10CC at the Gibbston Valley Winery concert on February 15, then head to Nashville to record her next song.
