Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa, one of New Zealand's top-performing ''green'' business operators, earned a Qualmark Enviro gold award last week.
Enviro awards of bronze, silver or gold are given to top performers in waste management, water conservation and community and conservation initiatives.
Sofitel Queenstown received its first Enviro gold award from Qualmark in 2011.
Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa general manager Vincent Macquet said the hotel was very proud to have again earned Qualmark's highest environmental ranking in 2014.
