Constable charged

A Queenstown policewoman has been charged with offensive language after an incident in a Queenstown taxi on November 3 last year.

A statement released yesterday by Otago Rural acting area commander Inspector Andrew Burns said the 43-year-old constable was facing one charge of offensive language and is expected to appear in the Queenstown District Court on March 18.

The constable is on leave without pay.

In November, the Otago Daily Times reported a criminal investigation was under way following an incident between a female constable and a Queenstown Taxis driver.
