Summer only ended days ago but already the Remarkables
skifield has been covered with snow.

The skifield is scheduled to open on June 21 with a new
six-seater chairlift, 1.6km of new trails, more snow-making
equipment and more car parking.
NZSki expects to begin sealing the skifield's access road
this month with the bottom 4km of the 13km alpine road to be
ready for this ski season.
While NZSki's website said the Remarkables skifield had
received 20cm of snow yesterday, MetService said warmer
weather was on the horizon for the skifield, with a high of
6degC today and 10degC tomorrow. Coronet Peak also received a
dusting of snow during the latest temperature plunge.
