Forums on library services

Details of how the Queenstown Lakes District Council may deliver future library services will be released at two community forums this week.

The first forum will be held at the Queenstown Memorial Centre tomorrow night.

Queenstown Lakes Mayor Vanessa van Uden said the Library Taskforce had made a series of recommendations which the council wanted to first ''test'' with the community before going to the full council for final consideration.

''If something significant has been missed, then this is the time to identify that.''

Ms van Uden said she hoped those who had shared their ideas on library services over the past three months would come to hear what had evolved.

• The Queenstown forum will begin at 6.30pm tomorrow, and another will be held at the Lake Wanaka Centre on Thursday from 6.30pm.
