Fear Factory, on Shotover St, is in line for a makeover.
The owner of the scare business has applied for resource consent to upgrade the facade to ''enhance the whole look of the building''.
The present facade is one shade of grey.
An image of the proposal contained in the application to the Queenstown Lakes District Council shows the top half of the building painted black and the bottom with a stone wall look.
Fear Factory opened in June last year.
