Kings View School pupils (from left) Tobin Roebeck (8), Mackenzie Shewan (11) and Florence Roebeck (6), dressed as some of their favourite literary heroes, stock up on some of the 400 new Scholastic New Zealand paperbacks which are available to buy at the school's first fundraising book fair this week.

Entertaining and informative fiction and non-fiction books will be on sale in the foyer of the school in Frankton at 8.30am to 9.30am and 2pm to 4pm each day until Thursday.

Proceeds from the fair will pay for resources in the school's new technology room, KingsView Parent-Teacher Association member Andrea Roebeck said.

Wakatipu authors Scott Townsend and Teresa Murphy and community members Gill Hodgson and Senior Constable Beth Fookes will read stories to both pupils and pre-school children from the next-door KingsView Early Learning Centre.

In turn, some pupils will go Wakatipu early learning centres and rest-homes to read to children and seniors.
