Pupils to fast for Malawi

Malawi aid organisations will benefit from money raised by about 20 pupils from Wakatipu High School for the 40th anniversary of the 40 Hour Famine.

The team of year 13 pupils is beginning to organise its contribution towards the annual national appeal held by World Vision which attempts to improve the lives of impoverished people.

Pupils will sign up sponsors before going without food, talking, or technology for 40 hours, then collect the money pledged.

The 40 Hour Famine is set for the weekend of May 31-June 1. A team of six pupils will again brave the elements and night life by living in a cage at the top of Queenstown Mall for a sponsored 40 hours without food.
