New tour targets Chinese travellers

Queenstown business Nomad Safaris will show a new product targeting the Chinese market to travel and tourism buyers at Trenz 2014, which begins in Auckland on Sunday.

The new goldfield heritage tour, developed by Nomad Safaris, one of New Zealand's original 4WD tour operators, has developed the ''Gold Seeker'' tour, based on Chinese workers on the goldfields in the Wakatipu region and visiting the Skippers Rd, Arrowtown Chinese Settlement and the Arrow River where the Chinese sought their fortunes after the discovery of gold in 1862.

Managed by the Tourism Industry Association New Zealand, Trenz is the $24 billion industry's most important annual international showcase.

It runs in Auckland from May 18-21.
