Gibbston will host a night of classic rock in January, with three big acts lined up for the annual summer gig.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Heart, along with rock bands Foreigner and Three Dog Night will bring their melodic sounds to Queenstown as part of a nationwide tour.

Greenstone Entertainment is bringing the three groups to the Gibbston Valley Winery Summer Concert following a successful tour by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Starship and 10cc.

Amanda Calvert, CEO of Greenstone Entertainment, said she was excited to announce the 2015 Summer Concert Tour line-up.

''These three legendary artists together bring a huge song list that will have everyone rocking throughout the day,'' she said.

Siblings Ann and Nancy Wilson, of Heart, stormed the charts in the '70s with hits including Magic Man, Barracuda and Straight On.

The duo remained in the charts throughout the '80s and '90s and nearly 35 years after their first big hit, Heart was back in the Billboard Top 10 in 2010 with its Red Velvet Car album.

Foreigner, with 10 multi-platinum albums and 16 Top 30 hits, is among the world's most popular rock acts.

Led by Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Mick Jones, the band continues to have sold-out world tours and album sales have now exceeded 75 million.

The band has produced rock 'n' roll anthems including Juke Box Hero, Feels Like The First Time, and the worldwide hit I Want To Know What Love Is.

Three Dog Night boasts sales of more than 50 million units and 21 Top 40 hits including Shambala, Liar and One.

The band has embraced 21st-century technology by launching its first new recording in 25 years online.

The three bands will end their New Zealand tour in Queenstown on January 31 next year, following concerts in Taupo and Whitianga.

Tickets for the Gibbston concert go on sale on Monday, July 7.
