Contractors have cleared a land slip that closed a section of the Queenstown to Glenorchy Road this morning.
The section of road is about 1.5km outside Queenstown's CBD, between the two ends of Fernhill Road. It was closed at 7am.
Traffic was diverted along Fernhill Road, which meets the road at two points.
The slip has been cleared and a 50kmh speed limit is in place about 150m from the Fernhill roundabout through the site of the slip.
The slip is believed to have been caused by a burst water pipe.
