Queenstown Airport is New Zealand's fourth-busiest, hosting 1.25 million passengers in the 2013-14 financial year.

The airport employs more than 350 people servicing aircraft and passengers travelling throughout New Zealand, the east coast of Australia and tourist flight seeing.

Earlier this month the airport company announced a 27.6% growth in transtasman passenger numbers, from 241,714 in the year to June 30, 2013 to 308,402 at the same date this year. This helped the company report a $6.6 million net profit after tax for the 2013-14 financial year, a 25% lift on the previous year.

Last financial year was the busiest so far for Queenstown Airport, with a 4.2% increase in total passenger movements compared to the previous 12 months.
