Queenstown's most recent New Zealand citizens enjoyed some sunshine after their citizenship ceremony at the Queenstown Lakes District Council last week.

The are (back from left) Osvaldo Gutierrez Cornejo (Chile), Russell Lewis, Matthew Yates, Rex Charlesworth, Jacqui Charlesworth (all formerly of the United Kingdom), Leslie Johnston (United States), Dr David Wright (Australia-United Kingdom), (front from left) Denisa Miller Jasz with Luca Jasz Miller (3), Zdenek Racuk, Jitka Horynova (all formerly of the Czech Republic), Queenstown Lakes Mayor Vanessa van Uden, Anne Harris (United Kingdom), Kim Wright (Australia) and Leodir Waechter (Brazil).

Pupils from Garston School performed the national anthem for the new citizens, following on from a visit by Ms van Uden to the school earlier this year during which she spoke about Anzac Day and citizenship.
