Pedalling in pink

Sheena Haywood, of Queenstown, spent Friday morning on her bike in Arrowtown raising money for the 2014 Pink Ribbon Appeal.

Organiser Julie Hughes said volunteers exceeded their target of raising $4000 on Friday and Saturday in the village through street collections and special promotions, which included a movie night at Dorothy Brown's Cinema.

''It was fantastic ... I'm so thrilled that everybody makes the effort to do this.

''No matter what your age, no matter who you are, you know someone who's had breast cancer, is going through breast cancer or has died from breast cancer.''
